I love Jacqueline Wilson's books, although I didn't discover them until I was an adult. This is the fourth? fifth? of her stories that I've read and her writing is so compelling and her characters so flawed and realistic and always growing that I think a lot of writers for adults could really take a lesson from her. I really felt for Em and her mum, her whole family really. I wasn't sure I like the ending so much, with their father coming back, because what if he just keeps doing this to them?
